Valentine's Day in Las Vegas: Something for Everyone

Karen LoBello
Looking to exceed your expectations this Valentine's Day? Celebrate it Las Vegas style! Having lived in the area for many years, I can tell you that Las Vegas not only offers exquisite romantic dinner settings, but is also host to Valentine's Day adventures. Hey, you can even defy the status quo by jumping on the "Anti-Valentine's Day" bandwagon.

Valentine's Day Vintage Experience in Las Vegas
Hugo's Cellar, Four Queens Casino Hotel
202 Fremont Street (702) 385-4011

If you want to feel like one of the Rat Pack in the old days of Vegas, try Hugo's Cellar for Valentine's Day. It will take you back in time. Every lady who enters the restaurant is greeted with a long-stemmed rose, Valentine's Day or not.

Pair Dining with Adventure on Valentine's Day in Las Vegas
Las Vegas Flight and Brazilian Feast, $99

Plan an out-of-the-ordinary date this Valentine's Day. Experience a helicopter flight over the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street. You'll be served champagne before you step into the jet helicopter. This excursion is coupled with a meal at Pampas Brazilian Grille in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, a restaurant famous for its "take as long as you like and eat as much as you want" philosophy. Sizzling skewers of meat and homemade salads and side dishes are the main fare.

Valentine's Day French Ambiance in Las Vegas
Fleur de Lys, Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino
3950 Las Vegas Boulevard South (702) 632-9400

It's hard to top the atmosphere of this French restaurant....a perfect spot for romantic Valentine's Day dining. Quiet and dimly lit, it is accentuated by candlelight. The 30 foot walls of cultured stone are topped only by the live floral sculpture of 3000 roses. Opt for a private cabana for a secluded experience. There are 3, 4, and 5 course meals available. The desserts and breads are outstanding...it's French, after all.

Valentine's Day High Romance in Las Vegas
Nove Italiano, Palms Hotel Casino
4321 W. Flamingo (702) 942-6800

Feel like a V.I.P. as you travel up the elevator to the 51st floor. The glass enclosure allows you to enjoy a romantic view of the Las Vegas strip. Take pleasure in handmade pastas and Caesar's salad prepared tableside. A Valentine's Day special is the "Strawberry Sweetheart Margarita" for $15. Love, sweet love.

Anti-Valentine's Day Masquerade Bash in Las Vegas
McFadden's Irish Pub, Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino
3700 W. Flamingo (702) 270-6200

Feel like rebelling against the whole Valentine's Day couples' theme? This might be your place. The party happens on Saturday, February 13th. Cash and prizes are awarded for the best masquerade mask. $4 martinis and screwdrivers are available, so plan on a D.D.! A pub menu including burgers and shrimp cocktail will complete the night

Valentine's Day in Las Vegas won't disappoint, but be sure to make reservations. Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for just about any restaurant.
