Are not enough for me,
My Lord, I need protection
For my Valentine at sea.
~~~~~
My Valentine is far away
Serving in Iraq,
No flowers, chocolate, candy hearts,
Please Lord, just bring him back.
~~~~~
I want my mommy to come home,
And be my Valentine,
She's off at war, so far from me,
I miss her all the time.
~~~~~
I share my love with all the world,
She's stationed in Iraq,
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers,
Ask God to bring her back.
~~~~~
Valentine's Day is lonely,
Without my serviceman
I hope my love sustains him,
He's in Afghanistan.
~~~~~
God bless our troops and their families left without them.
Post a CommentYes, God bless them, and may we improve in the way our V.A. system treats our vets.
Wonderfully done and beautifully expressed!
love it, love it, and love it!
Very touching. My brother was in Iraq for 18 months, and it really helped to bond he & his wife even closer.
Oh, that must be so difficult. we should all keep them in our prayers.
This made me cry because so few people express their thanks to the military with such heartfelt words. You have captured the feelings so well. As an ex military wife, every deployment away from us broke our hearts and there were no smiles or happiness until he returned again. So many families miss Valentines, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays and anniversaries so that we here can remain safe. But so many times, instead of gratitude, our men and women receive scorn and utter disrespect. It is shameful the way many treat these noble human beings. But your poem would mean so much to them if they could read it. Bless you!
Very touching. It has to be hard to be away from a loved one on Valentines day. :(
