Valentines Day Poem: Dragonfly

J L Carey Jr
Darting in and out of common weeds

Came some beautiful nymph like

Dragonfly, floating on air, caught

By peripheral chance, an image

Only the mind could illustrate,

Dark was the world before she

Eased the eyes back open,

Transfiguring two souls to one.

Delicate Tonbo, those iridescent wings

Carry all the earth it seems.

Poking around looking at some of your earlier stuff, Jeff. This is beautiful.

This is so tender. Strong and fragile at the same time. Beautiful imagery.

This is such a tender poem...your wife is lucky to have someone like you and I am sure that you, too, are fortunate to have someone like her -- especially if she inspired such a beautiful piece of word art.
