Valentine's Day Quotes for 2011

Who Says What About Love in This Modern Age?

Adam Hughes
"My love is like a red, red rose ..." Nah! That's for previous generations, not our fast and ready digital age where no thought stays in our heads for long. We just can't resist the opportunity to push out our rambling internal dialogs for the world to see via Facebook, blogs, and Twitter, so why should our thoughts on love be any different. Given this readiness to share everything, it's hardly surprising that our blurbs on love and tenderness look a little different than those of centuries past. Here, then, are some Valentine's Day quotes for 2011:

"I love you, but 'it's compilcated'." -- Facebook boy to Facebook girl

"I'm so glad that we're 'in a relationship'." -- Facebook girl to Facebook boy

"RT What? @dad RT @brenda RT @mom RT @amber He loves me! RT @brad Saw a puppy at the mall and thought of Amber." -- Dad finding out about his daughter's new boyfriend via back channels.

"The 'Sarah' was just a thumbo ... I meant, 'I love you, Melissa.'" -- Sam, in big trouble on February 15

"Happy Valentine's Day! It would be great to see you." -- 320 times on single girl's Facebook wall, from 320 (hopefully) single guys.
