Personalized heart to heart "cards" comes in all shapes and sizes. No, there's not going to be a mention of personalized M&M candies, special messages on candy hearts or e-cards. But when was the last time you decorated their favorite dish?

Delivering messages can be done multiple ways. But do you have the right instruments or tools?

Ever try to write out a word while using a really bad tube of frosting, gel, cream, cheese or dip on a cake, brownie, cupcake, cookie, plate of chips or crackers? Not easy. But it can be easier.

First, get a food-safe plastic bag. Second, take a pair of clean scissors and cut into two triangles from the top edge to the bottom edge. Third, cut a super small portion off of the corner of plastic (bag) furthest from the opening side resulting in a cone-shaped opening with a hole in one end. Lastly, spoon in the frosting, gel, cream, cheese or dip closest to the little cut opening and lightly work it out of the opening.

If the hole is not big enough make it the appropriate size to best fit your writing needs. With a little practice, and a dash of food coloring inside of the white frosting, gel, cream, cheese or dip, you could send a nice message -- the labor of love.

Note: Slightly warm hard frosting, cream or dip in a microwave bowl prior to use for looser flow and better performance. That is if they don't come inside of a can - like cheese.

Ribbon of Love:

To spruce up an actual Valentine's Day card place a long ribbon (any color) inside of the card, tie it into a small bow, cut the overflowing ends then move the bow to a good spot giving the Valentine's Day card a classic touch. And why purchase a card at top dollar when you can create your own at low cost?

Scents Makes Sense:

Flower petals, bowl of potpourri, a light sprinkle of perfume or cologne here and there can conquer the odor. Scented candles are also a good choice. When using a spray do not flood the air -- use as directed.

No matter how you do it or where you do it - just do it well. From word of mouth or word of card, share a message of love with your Valentine - your sweetie - your love muffin - puddin' pop - baby cakes.
