Valentine's Day Restaurants in Historic Littleton, Colorado

Four Romantic Restaurants in Old Littleton

Rebecca Livermore
Historic Littleton, Colorado is a charming part of town that takes you back to yesteryear. It's a great place to head for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner.

Residents of Littleton, Colorado have no doubt long ago discovered the treasure often referred to as "Old Littleton." Main Street, and the blocks immediately off of Main Street are filled with unique shops and restaurants. It's a great area to stroll and take in the atmosphere, so if time permits, you might want to spend some time window shopping before heading to one of the four restaurants listed below for your Valentine's dinner.

Parking for all four restaurants is available on Main Street as well as side streets, and a large portion of the Reinke Brother's parking lot (located on Prince Street, right off of Main) is set aside as free public parking.

The Melting Pot

2707 West Main Street
Littleton, CO 80120
(303) 794-5666

Hours of Operation:

Monday-Thursday: 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.
Friday: 11:00 a.m. - Midnight
Saturday & Sunday: 11 a.m. - Midnight

According to the Chanel 7 - A List for 2010, The Melting Pot was named as the most romantic restaurant, and for good reason. More than any other place, The Melting Pot encourages couples to slow down, and enjoy the process. In my experience, dinner there usually lasts around two hours, which allows plenty of time for intimate conversation. As a fondue restaurant, the couple does the actual cooking, though all the prep work has been done by the great chefs there.

The Valentine's special, referred to as Cupids Combo is on the menu the entire month of February, though the website states that Valentine's Day is excluded. Cupids Combo includes four fondue courses and costs $120 per couple. The regular menu is also available at any time for couples who prefer something other than what is offered on the Cupids Combo.

In addition to the parking options listed above, The Melting Pot has a large parking lot and also offers valet parking.

Opus Restaurant

2575 West Main Street
Littleton, CO 80120
(303) 703-6787

Hours of Operation:

Lunch
Monday - Saturday: 11am - 3pm

Dinner
Sunday - Thursday: 5pm - 10pm
Friday & Saturday: 5pm - 11pm

Brunch
Sunday: 10am - 2pm

Located right on Main Street, Opus Restaurant is the recipient of the Wine Spectators Award of Excellence for 2010. In addition to its award-winning wine offerings, Opus Restaurant has a full menu which includes, among other things, six-course and nine-course dinners. The six-course dinner options cost $69 per person ($89 with wine) and the nine-course dinner options cost $150 per person ($195 with wine).

The Valentine's Day menu consists of four courses and costs $89 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

If you like what Opus has to offer and want to experience this upscale restaurant but can't quite afford it, you might want to hold off until the 5280 Denver Restaurant week (February 25 - March 11) when a three-course dinner costs $52.80 per couple. At $26.40 per person, you won't find a better bargain when it comes to Opus Restaurant. This is of course assuming that your Valentine is also frugal and doesn't mind celebrating Valentine's Day a couple of weeks late.
