Here I have listed several words that are appropriate sight words for Valentine's Day in early elementary school classrooms.
Valentine
February
love
Cupid
arrow
red
heart
candy
chocolate
card
pink
friends
party
One way to encourage familiarity of these Valentine's Day sight words is to print them on red heart shapes made from construction paper and then hang them from the branches of a tree (a living tree or a large branch with several offshoots set in a bucket of concrete). You can also use the words printed on red hearts as flash cards.
Other ideas are to use the Valentine's Day sight words in bingo games and word searches.
