In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel - 1986

Do you have a boombax? Then here is your song. John Cusack in 'Say Anything' created the ultimate romantic scene when he played 'In Your Eyes' on his boombox held above his head in front of his ex-girlfriends window. "In your eyes, the light the heat, in your eyes, I am complete."

I Melt With You - Modern English - 1983

This is a great song to share with your special one. "Moving forward using all my breath, making love to you was never second best...I'll stop the world and melt with you." This song was featured in the movie 'Valley Girl' and ranked #7 on VH1's '100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80s'.

Just Like Heaven - The Cure - 1987

This was the Cure's first American hit and is a truly beautiful romantic song. "I kissed her face and kissed her head and dreamed of all the different ways I had to make her glow."

Lovesong - The Cure - 1989

Here is another romantic song by the Cure. This beautiful love song was written by singer, Robert Smith, as a wedding present for his wife. "However far away I will always love you, however long I stay I will always love you."

Never Tear Us Apart - INXS- 1988

It's a beautiful and sensuous love song performed by the late Michael Hutchence of INXS. Michael wrote the lyrics and Andrew Farriss the music. It's the perfect Valentine's Day song. "Don't ask me what you know is true, Don't have to tell you, I love your precious heart, I, I was standing, you were there, Two worlds collided and they could never tear us apart."

Head Over Heels - Tears for Fears - 1985

Here's another great Valentine's Day song. This Tears for Fears love song is one of their most simple songs. The song was featured in the 2001 cult classic movie, Donnie Darko. "Something happens and I'm head over heels, Ah don't take my heart, Don't break my heart."

Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper - 1984

Another must for your play list is 'Time After Time'. This was Cyndi Lauper's first #1 hit single. 'Time After Time' has been covered by many artists, including an instrumental version by Miles Davis. "If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting, Time after time."

Crazy For You - Madonna - 1985

This romantic song was recorded for the 1985 movie, Vision Quest. This was Madonna's first ballad. "I never wanted anyone like this, it's all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss, I'm crazy for you."

Take My Breath Away - Berlin - 1986

This song is best known as the love song from the 1986 movie, Top Gun, featuring Tom Cruise. The song also won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. "Watching in slow motion as you turn to me and say, My Love, Take my breath away."

Somebody - Depeche Mode - 1984

This is a beautiful song to complete the list. 'Somebody' is a touching song written by Depeche Mode's Martin Gore. The song mirrors everything we want love to be. "I want somebody who cares, for me passionately, with every thought and with every breath."
