Valentine's Day Surprise

Dee Davis
I can't forget the first day I laid eyes on you.

We played the game.

This romance was something new.

We had so much fun.

Nothing was ever the same.

I knew you were the one.

As time went by....

I fell hard; you swept me off my feet.

Your love was a natural high.

I've never felt more complete.

We are meant to be together.

We are forever.

Our love was intense, our love was strong.

Things were moving fast.

They said that we were wrong

For each other.

That our love wouldn't last.

And I should find another.

I have no doubts.

My heart was bursting with joy.

'Cause we know what this love's about.

But is it too much too soon?

Are you the right boy?

But we are so in tune...

With each other.

It feels right.

We are meant to be together.

Valentine's Day, only a few days away.

Will he ask me to be Mrs. Vandyke?

Eagerly I await the day.

Daydreaming what that moment will be like.

Valentine's Day has arrived.

The perfect shoes, the perfect dress,

It feels sooo contrived...

The perfect jewelry, the perfect tress

My stomach, filled with butterflies; I can't feel any worse.

The perfect guy, the perfect girl.

My heart's about to burst....

The perfect day, our perfect little world.

I like how the end structure of each line seems to be the pulse of a racing heart =-)
