Valentine’s Day Travel to Loveland, USA

Sylvia Cochran

The most famous American Loveland is in Colorado, but there are also auspiciously named cities in Oklahoma and Ohio. When contemplating Valentine's Day travel in the United States, make it Loveland this year!

Rustic Getaway in Loveland, Colorado

Situated in Larimer County, Loveland is near Fort Collins. Among America's locales carrying the moniker, this Loveland is perhaps the most picturesque and romantic. The Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch offers quintessential dude ranch vacations, but for Valentine's Day travelers, it offers special one-night bed and breakfast cabin stays. The Sweetheart Cabin costs $198 per couple for the night. Included in the price is dinner for two, wine and also a ranch breakfast the next morning. Go on a trail ride for an additional $68 per couple. Head into Loveland itself -- only about seven miles to the east -- and visit its many art galleries. Since the local chamber of commerce holds annual Valentine's Day decorating contests, you should see plenty of themed creations, which are sure to put you in the mood for romance.

Tie the Knot near Loveland, Ohio

Ohio's Loveland is part of three counties: Warren, Clermont and Hamilton. In the past, it used to be a resort town and playground for the wealthy. Since then, it has undergone numerous changes and quite a bit of residential growth. This year, the Loveland Magazine advertises that Judge Heather Russell will perform a Valentine's Day group wedding ceremony. If you are ready to get married, travel to the Hamilton County municipal court house for a chance to have February 14 become your official wedding date -- and Loveland the locale of your reception. Present yourself, marriage license in hand, in Room 205 at 1:30 p.m. If you just want to watch the weddings, and perhaps use them as a backdrop for your own engagement, note that the public is invited to watch the group ceremony.

Loveland, Oklahoma as Backdrop to a Romantic Stay in a Victorian B&B

Tillman County is the seat of Oklahoma's Loveland. Truth be told, Loveland, Oklahoma is little more than a speck on the map. With about 13 residents, it is easy to miss. That said, nearby is the Mangum Whitehouse B&B. Only $99 per night buys you a stay in the Rose Room, also known as the Honeymoon Suite. Drive 48 miles to Loveland for ambiance; take a walk through the area with your sweetheart. Granted, it is not on scale with Colorado or Ohio, but if money is tight and you are local, this is the best Valentine's Day travel tip around -- if a Loveland visit is on your desired agenda.
