Valentine's Day Rice Krispies Treats

Who does not love Rice Krispies treats? Make your treats special by adding some holiday festivity to your cooking!

Ingredients

Non stick cooking spray

3 tablespoons of margarine

6 cups of mini marshmallows

Red food coloring

9 cups of Rice Krispies cereal (generic brands work also)

Heart shaped cookie cutter or other Valentine's Day cookie cutters (simple shapes are better)

Directions

Use the nonstick cooking spray to coat the bottom and sides of a 10 by 15 inch baking sheet.

Melt the three tablespoons of margarine over low heat in a large pot. Add the 6 cups of mini marshmallows and continuously stir the mixture until thoroughly melted and mixed. Add a few drops of red food coloring until you reach the Valentine's Day color of your choice. Pink or red work nicely!

Put in the Rice Krispies cereal. Continue to stir until the mixture is evenly coated. Spoon the mixture onto the coated baking sheet.

Smooth the mixture out flat by using coated hands or waxed paper. The mixture will be sticky.

Use the cookie cutter to cut out the treats into heart shapes.

Place the Valentine's Day treats on a platter or in a baggie. Tie with festive ribbon for a more professional look!
