As we came into the millennium we lost sight of what was important.Society has allowed Valentines to become a material holiday and stereo typed with diamonds.If you take a step back and look half the world is in a low income bracket.Men struggle to get that special women flowers,candy and diamonds.

What happened to the old days when a man would walk into a field and find that perfect flower.This flower would have more meaning than one chosen at a store.To know that the man took the time to stop and search.Looked for the right one and than picked it.Remember when the man would right his own letter that was filled with his words.Not something that was made by a computer.To know that man took the time to sit and figure out how he felt and put it into words.

There was a time when women would cook the best dinner they could for there man to show how much they cared.Now we go to dinner.You end up waiting an hour and half to be seated.Just to say to your friends he took me to dinner.There was a time when sitting home cuddled in each others arms was worth more than buying her that daimond.It stood more ground and held more meaning.

Can it be that we really have lost sight.Well I can tell you this.I still believe in those times and I think that If we all stopped for one moment and thought about it.You could believe again to..We all want that hot bubble bath with rose petals more than we want to stand in line just to eat dinner.Do we want our children to grow up and lose sight of what true love is? Do we want to have them believe that love and passion is material instead of actions and feelings? It is not to late to bring back the true meaning of Valentines day.
