This is a simple recipe for a Valentines homemade chocolate cake.

2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup vegetable shortning
1 cup cold chocolate milk
2 cups flour

Directions for Valentines Homemade Chocolate Cake

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Beat the eggs and set aside. Grease and flour your cake pan. In a large bowl add all your ingredients and eggs and beat for two minutes or so until all the batter is smooth. Next pour your batter into your greased cake pan. Bake for about 30 minutes or so. After the cake is cooled. Add the frosting. Then add your Valentines kisses and candy hearts on the top of the cake.
