February 14th, visitors from Caribbean cruises, locals and area travelers to Port Canaveral's Cove area of fine dining along the waterfront were happy to find an Arts and Craft show promised to be a regular event Monday through Wednesday. Perhaps the economic downturn has brought out great ideas since what could be a better idea than to have the crafts right next to where you dine?

The Port Canaveral Arts and Crafts show at the Cove will have a grand opening ceremony in which musician Don Soledad's band will play. Don Soledad has an acoustical guitar CD featuring his own music titled Camino de Seda or (Silk Road) and another featuring his band. He and his wife also exhibit crafts at the Arts and Craft show.

What other vendors will you find at the Port Canaveral Arts and Crafts show? Well, very few people made it through the short circular walk through the fifty or so tents without buying naughty taste treats. Some of your choices include Cold Fusion Ice Cream. The vendor of Cold Fusion Ice Cream lets you pick ingredients then he uses something really cold to freeze it while he stirs it up right before your eyes. If the calories of ice cream seem too much to handle, Italian ices are also on sale and if you manage to sneak past the local cookie mix saleslady with the tasty citrus flavored cookie mix, I'll be surprised. Gift mixes tie a cookie cutter (some have sea horses) with a ribbon. When you get home, all you do is add butter, roll out, cut with a cookie, either frost with the mix or dip in powder sugar.

My own purchases included a blown glass seahorse necklace, two boxes of note cards featuring pictures of Florida birds, and the Camino de Seda album. Most popular items for sale include quite a number of handmade jewelry, stain glass windows, two different art works made from palm fronds-imagine recycling your palm pruning and finding it turned into a lovely Oriental style candy dish or hanging fish creature painted in colorful tones. It was hard to resist Einstein floating in space and whole rack of mushrooms or light weight silk blouses. So, even if you don't find a work of art to make your own, or a taste treat to sweeten your attitude, you might find a wonderful idea to take home and try out yourself.

If you need to know which restaurant to choose, "Best Seafood Restaurants in Port Canaveral" is bound to help.
