Valid Reasons to Home School

Amanda Kidd
As parents, our goal is to effectively educate our children to reap a professional, productive career. However, today's schools have detrimental environments such as sex, drugs, and violence as the latest trends. These mimicked social skills along with other peer pressures such as bullying, discrimination, racism and inexperienced educators impact our children's academic performances. As parents, we worry day to day about these threatening predicaments our children endure, be it public or suburban schools. Let's not exclude unsanitized and unsterilized schools, communicable diseases, and cafeteria food poisoning.

To be specific, our children aren't safe anymore, including the young and defenseless that depends on public or school transportation, because they are preyed upon by pedophiles. Some children are totally disrespectful toward teachers, staff, and students, and sadly, when reprimanded, they mock the teachers and continue to disrupt precious classroom sessions. School is an institution for learning, yet our children's fondest memories are plagued with post traumatic stress syndrome from continuous detrimental environments. This may be the worst seven hours of learning our children could skip, to sustain life.

Many oppose home schooling, but the relevant facts demonstrate these children are equally intelligent. Some of our presidents and celebrities were home schooled. So the dirty myths about home schoolers lacking social skills are truly discredited. Home schoolers have smaller classrooms and a quiet and peaceful learning environment. As parents, you can allow extra time to complete assignments and concentrate on children with special needs, resting assured they are learning oppose to being promoted under the No Child Left Behind quota. Home schoolers also have the option of split sessions, half days at home, or school learning the subjects that parents are intimidated in. There are many home school Web sites, educational bookstores, clubs, and organizations that support home school parents and students. Home schoolers are also allowed to express their religious beliefs, which are banned from public schools.

A Christian environment is needed in society, especially in children for the benefit of love, respect, and morals, but most certainly a sufficient education that will guarantee success. So parents consider home schooling. It's challenging, but just as rewarding as traditional schools. Home schoolers aren't the less educated, they're the best educated, because their environment is stress free from detrimental distractions in the institutions that we call schools.
