Eze 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
Eze 37:2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
Eze 37:3 He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"
I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know."
Eze 37:4 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
Eze 37:5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
Eze 37:6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "
Eze 37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.
Eze 37:8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
Eze 37:9 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' "
Eze 37:10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet-a vast army.
Eze 37:11 Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.'
Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
Eze 37:13 Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
Eze 37:14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.' "
Valley of Dry bones...this is something I came across this weekend. and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. What do we do with our valley of dry bones? What do we say to those that are Spiritually dead? I am sure some of you have people in your life that are like this...ones that are "Christians" they are "Believers", but are not really walking as Jesus did nor are there spirits filled with the Holy Spirit. So what do we do...well I think answer or at least part of it lies within This chapter and section of verses. Ezekiel...was asked by God while standing amidst the dry bones..."Can these bones live?" well what do you think his response was...and I mean his very first thought...well most likely "no way", but God knows all before it happens it has all been written so Why did God even ask? Was he testing Ezekiel? Well actually I think he just wanted his answer...just like Prayer. if God already knows what we are going to ask then why do we have to pray? Well we do because God tells us to, plus it is a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him, which is what he wants. Well Ezekiel's response was a good thought out one I guess...he said "God you only know". So God told him to speak this to the bones...and Ezekiel began to speak Gods words to the bones...and they came alive piece by piece and he said speak the breath of life into them....okay the Breath of Life in the Hebrew...is spirit...same as what was put into Adam in Genesis. And after this they rose up a great Army...GOD ARMY...the same that will rise in Revelations 11:11. So what are we to do with those "dry bones" aka "spiritually dead" well I think it is clear...we are to speak Gods word to them, not only with our voices, but also with our actions. We should just scream JESUS...he is in us and us in HIM....we should be as Him...do as Him...all things as HIM!!! So when you are presented with this problem...do not preach to them...show them and use kind words. and Gods words...to help to restore and heal there spirit and soul.
