Valley Wedding Chapel- Wedding Venue Review

When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, we had already decided before hand, that we were getting married. However, we had not done it yet. We had planned on waiting a year, but all things considered, and the fact that Jimmy was in the Military, we needed to get married as soon as possible for insurance reasons, and so that I could get a Military ID. We faced a bit of a problem though. I was living in Maine, and he had only been there for almost a year. He had come over from Hawaii to sail back a ship he was to be assigned to. He was set to leave for Hawaii in two days. That was not enough time for us to get everything prepared.

We had a long talk together, and with my parents, decided that since his ship would be stopping in Virginia for two weeks, my parents and I would drive down there and meet him near the base. The only thing I needed to do was find a place TO get married. I knew that, given the short amount of time we had to plan things, we would have to have what some people call a "shot gun wedding" or a "quickie wedding". However, I wanted it to at least be a nice ceremony and a nice little place. After many days of researching, I found a website for a cute little wedding chapel called Valley Wedding Chapel. The website was full of adorable pictures of what the inside and outside looked like, as well as pictures of happy couples who have gotten married there. Valley Wedding Chapel seemed like my best bet, and it was cute as well.

All I had to do was e-mail them the dates and time we wanted to make an appointment to get married for, and it was all set up. It was that easy. We opted for the "No frills" ceremony, as we didn't have a ton of money to spend. The No Frills ceremony was around $145.00. It entailed a small, 20 minute ceremony where I could have four guests,(Which worked out, since it was just my mom, dad and sister that were with us.)Justice of the peace included, as well as a cute little wedding cake. Other packages are as follows:

Package 1. Priced at $245.00, package 1 is a 30 minute seated ceremony with up to 8 guests, Bridal March and Recessional and a sweetheart cake for two.

Package 2. Priced at $295.00, package 2 is a 60 minute in chapel ceremony where you can have up to 5-16 seated guests with Bridal March & Recessional as well as Bridal coordinator to assist you.

You can add amenities to any of these packages such as Photographs, videography, champagne toast, non-alcoholic sparkling cider, unity candle lighting and more, for added extra price.

Valley Wedding Chapel is located in Winchester, Virginia. Since we are not from Virginia, we had a bit of a time finding it, and it was a few hours away from the base where my husband was staying. However, we were pleasantly pleased when we finally arrived and saw how cute it was. Not to mention it was right acrossed the street from the courthouse, so all we had to do was walk a few feet to get our marriage license. Unfortunately for us, it was raining that day. However, the rain and the giant crisp oak leaves on the ground just added to the sweet atmosphere that the Valley Wedding Chapel portrays. The outside is surrounded by a cute little archway surrounded by flowers. The bushes surrounding the place have little flowers and welcome signs. It is very cute, it reminds me of a little fairy tale cottage.

The inside is small, buy comfortable. I'm not sure, but there may have been a bigger room out back for larger ceremonies. My parents sat down in the front row, while my husband and I exchanged vows in front of another flowered archway. The justice of the peace took our pictures, as well as pictures of us and my parents together. He then walked us across the street where our marriage license was finalized. It was short, but very meaningful. The pictures came out great. If you are looking forward to getting married, but do not want a huge wedding, I highly reccomend The Valley Wedding Chapel. You can still have that wedding experience with your close friends and family, but without anywhere close to that big wedding price. For affordable, meaningful, yet short weddings, check out Valley Wedding Chapel.

I'm glad your wedding day went well. It just goes to show that you do not have to spend thousands to have a nice wedding. After all isn't the marriage more important than the wedding day?
