Initially, my complaints included complete disorganization of the clothing, and a lack of dressing rooms combined with a policy of no returns. Value Village addressed all of those issues and is now much better organized than before. The store is large and spacious, which always makes for a better and more relaxed shopping experience, and the clothes are now arranged carefully by size. The previous issues, such as maternity clothing being found in the girls section, have been sorted out, and everything is much easier to find and look through now.
They have also gotten dressing rooms, which, of course, is pretty much necessary to anyone buying clothes. They have three dressing rooms and while they are nothing special as far as dressing rooms go, they are perfectly fine and I have never had to wait in line to get into one.
With these new improvements, Value Village is actually a great place to shop for cheap clothing, dishes, furniture, and more. Their furniture, especially, is a really good deal. They have couches and love seats for under $20. You can find chairs for under $10.
They also have different colored tags on their items and certain colored tags are 25-50% off on any given day. In addition to this, they have some great deals on their clothing. Last time I was there, I bought an Aeropostale t-shirt, American Eagle shorts, and an Old Navy tank top for a total of $7.27 (including tax). If that's not a fantastic deal, I don't know what is.
On top of all that, I love that they are open until 9pm. Goodwill and other thrift stores often close around 5 or 6, or maybe stay open until 8 at the latest. So Value Village's hours are just another feature that makes them a convenient place to shop.
So I have to applaud Value Village for the improvements they made. Now they can easily compete with the other thrift stores in town. They are located at 3407 High Point Road, so if you're in the neighborhood, check them out.
