Vampire Vs Werewolf Who is More Popular Today?

Blood Vs Howl

Joe Dorish
The idea of vampires and werewolves has fascinated mankind for many centuries. Both of these mythical creatures have been created and recreated in folklore, books, movies and TV shows and become part of the fabric of our mythical society. The best example of this would be the popular Twilight series of books and movies which contain both vampires and werewolves.

But which of these mythical creatures is more popular today vampire or werewolf?

To answer that question I searched various websites on the Internet to see which name is more popular today. What is your guess?

Google Search

Vampire - 18.1 million results

Werewolf - 6.6 million results

YouTube

Vampire - 531,000 results

Werewolf - 54,300 results

Google Keyword Tool

Vampire - 9.1 million global monthly searches

Werewolf - 450,000 global monthly searches

Amazon

Vampire - 38,979 results

Werewolf - 6,318 results

The results are in and they are conclusive. By a wide margin vampires are far more popular in society today than werewolves are.

The name vampire returns 174% more search results on Google and 878% more results on YouTube. There are over 20 times the number of global monthly searches for the term vampire than there are for the name werewolf. And on Amazon the name vampire returns six times the number of results as the name werewolf does.

Both of these mythical creatures names are popular in society but clearly vampires are more popular than werewolves are today. I guess the ideas of blood and immortality are more popular and appealing with people than the ideas of transformation, howling and the moon are.
