Van Halen has been touring the country this fall with a lineup that features both Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth for the first time in 22 years. The tour has been so successful that they have added 28 additional dates for the first part of 2008. The majority of these dates will be in the eastern half of the United States. The city that is the furthest west included in these additional dates in Denver, Colorado. This information was revealed in a recent press release from the band, Van Halen.

The tour started at the beginning of this fall, and has been a big hit throughout the country. So far over 600,000 fans have came to see the Van Halen lineup for this tour so far. The lineup includes original members such as lead singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, and drummer Alex Van Halen. Michael Anthony who was also an original member of the band is not involved in this tour, and he has been replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen. Wolfgang is playing bass guitar, and is Eddie Van Halen's son. Reviews of the tour in 2007 have been very strong.

"From the first power chords of "Your Really Got Me," the band hit a hard groove that didn't let up for the next two hours," was a review from the New York Daily News. "For one perfect night... Van Halen was nothing short of spectacular", according to The Hollywood Reporter's review.

The new dates will kick off on Juanuary 22nd at Ford Center in Oklahoma City. They will conclude on April 7th with a show at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tickets for the first shows of the year on this newly announced leg will be available at the beginning of December for cities such as San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Omaha, New Orleans, Charlottesville, Hershey, East Rutherford, and New York City.

Van Halen formed back in 1974. They released their debut album in 1978, and were known to put on great shows live throughout the country. Personality conflicts and substance abuse issues divided the bank in the 1980s, and they had not toured featuring David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen together since then. The band had several lead singers in David Lee Roth's absense, with the best known one being Sammy Hagar.

An announcement will be made when additional tickets are released for the remaining shows on the schedule by the band and Ticketmaster. The press release indicates that additional shows could be added to the tour at a future date.

Van Halen played last night in the New Orleans Arena. I had vowed long ago after a Bruce Springsteen concert that I would never attend a concert in the arena again due to horrible acoustic echos; however, since I had wanted to see the reunion of Van Halen and David Lee Roth I decided to make an exception. Anyway the band was very good as I expected. Unfortunately, I was not let down by my judgement of the poor acoustics in the arena and will probably stick to my guns and not go there for a concert again, instead find another venue not too far away instead. The echos were so bad at times I could not tell which song they were playing. Do not let this tarnish the performance of the band, instead use this as a decision if you want to spend that much money on a concert that is so acoustically terrible. This concert would have sounded much better in the UNO civic auditorium, unfortunately for the sake of being able to seat a few more fans at the expense of sound quality the concert revenues
