The sixth day (February 17, 2010) of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics has ended and medals have begun to be claimed. Below are the events with medals awarded for this day and the people and countries that earned the medals. The highlighs of the medal earnings today include Lindey Vonn of the USA winning gold in the Women's Downhill despite having a bruised shin and Shani Davis (USA) being the first to repeat as the gold medal winner in the 1000 meter Speed Skating event.
