Was Anyone Hurt When the Vancouver SkyTrain Left With the Door Open?
No, people moved away from the door but the SkyTrain left the station without any alarms sounding. Translink says this mishap may have occured because a customer may have forced the door open which in turn can cause the doors to malfunction. The incident is still being investigated. Metro Skytrain type doors are not the same as elevator doors. They do not automatically open with the same kind of sensitivity as an elevator. That is why most metro passengers are advised to stand clear of the doors.
