Vanessa Carlton Proundly Proclaims She is Bisexual

According to an article posting on Huffington Post, Vanessa Carlton is bisexual and proud. Vanessa was the headline act during the Nashville Pride concert Saturday when she made the announcement. This is a concert that is aimed toward celebration of sexuality for those that are lesbian, gay and bisexual. There were 18,000 people in attendance and this was the easiest way for Vanessa to make the announcement. It is understandable, all of those in attendance were likely in the same boat and no judgement was passed. However, I must say that I am not surprised since she was the headline act during a gay concert. It seems implied that you fall into one of those categories if you are even performing at the show.

In any event, Vanessa has finally come out of the closet for all to see. I have listened to her music for some time now and I would suggest the songs Annie and Superhero to any potential fans. She has also appeared on the VH1 show titled Gotti's Way along with her producer and friend Irv Gotti. This is the man responsible for the success of Ja Rule and Ashanti. If his past work is any indication, maybe Vanessa was looking for some publicity? It is no secret that Ja Rule has been at a very low point in the last few years. Vanessa has also dated John Mayer and it is worth wondering if a possible announcement will come from Jennifer Aniston. Vanessa is a talented songwriter and piano player, I hope that she finds a lot of success in the world of music. However, I don't think Irv Gotti is the right producer for her. Considering the past acts that he has worked with are so different.

If Vanessa is looking for publicity from this announcement then she should release an album right away. It would have been a good idea to have a new CD available for purchase during the event.
