Vanessa Hudgens' Identified: Avoid at All Costs
Will Vanessa Hudgens Be Identified on Her Sophomore Album?
The first single off of Identified is Sneakernight. The track has a retro-jazz feel to it although the song is not well produced, written or delivered. The track just does not have any elements of a hit single and is a definite miss.
Paper Cut is one of the few traditional ballads on the album. The song is fairly solid and is catchy. The song should be a single as it will have a definite appeal to it.
Hook It Up is a very dance heavy track. The song is fairly solid and one of the better efforts on the album. The best part of the track is definitely the bridge. The lyrics of the chorus however leave a great deal to be desired.
Don't Ask Why is one of the slower tracks on the album. The song is acceptable pop fare and one of the redeeming tracks on the album. The song shows off Vanessa's voice and style as an artist.
First Bad Habit is very similar to current Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. The song has an up-tempo beat and is fairly danceable. However, the track just is not as well put together as those pop divas.
Amazed is a techno-sounding mid-tempo track. The song features a pretty boring drum track and does not really build into anything substantive. The highlight of the track is a guest verse from rapper Lil Mama which just lifts the song up several notches.
Last Night features a lot of the same elements of Sneakernight however the track is slightly less annoying and features more elements of country music.
Don't Leave is another mid-tempo track. The song is just boring and completely lacking of creativity. However, that said, it is still one of the better tracks on the album.
The album closes with Party On The Moon which is not a bad track. The track has an interesting melody and instrumentation.
Identified is an album that should be avoided unless you are madly in love with the High School Musical star. The album just does not feature enough solid tracks to justify a purchase. Vanessa Hudgens is much better than the material provided on this album. Overall Identified gets 6 out of 10. If you are a fan of Vanessa Hudgens make sure you pick up her sophomore album Identified.
