Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus, Adrienne Bailon Nude Photos Scandals Resurrected

Tis the season to resurrect scandal (everybody sing!!)... fa la la la la, la la la laaaa. As if the Rick Warren inaugural choice wasn't enough to fill up a 24-hour news channel's programming. But, no, for everyone's Christmas enjoyment, especially those with nothing better to do than crawl the internet, there is the Vanessa Hudgens nude photos scandal and the Miley Cyrus partially nude photos scandal to while away the Christmas hours. Nothing like near Christmas porn (or, more accurately, semi- Christmas porn, or PG/soft Christmas porn? Okay, whatever you want to call it, it is still people sitting around looking at pictures of naked females...).

Because, let's face it, once the unwrapping of the presents is over, it's just another day to get through. So if reading about Vanessa Hudgens or Miley Cyrus or Adrienne Bailon or anybody else getting naked (or tracking down nude and semi- nude photos) is the way you want to spend the day, so be it.

Vanessa Hudgens Nude Photo Scandal

It seems that in many year-ending stories lists, the Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus photos scandals are topping or near the top. Maxim magazine jokingly stated that Vanessa Hudgens' nude photo scandal was the only reason they even knew about "High School Musical," but found the young Disney star such a multicultural attraction that they named her to their Young Hot Hollywood 2009 list.

Hudgens' nude photo scandal nearly cost her the starring role in the upcoming "High School Musical 3." The then 19-yea-old star had taken a picture of herself nude in a mirror and - she thought - sent the picture to her boyfriend, "High School Musical" co-star Zac Efron. Instead, it went to someone else and was uploaded onto the internet and the nude Vanessa Hudgens went worldwide in a matter of hours. After apologizing to her fans and Disney, Hudgens still landed the lead role in "High School Musical 3."

(Disney recognized the value of the controversy as advance publicity, not to mention - as Maxim pointed out - drawing the interest of others who really may never have heard of the Disney franchise or were vaguely familiar with it.)

Miley Cyrus Nude (Sort Of) Photos Scandal(s)

Miley Cyrus and her alter ego "Hannah Montana" have been the center of photo scandals since the Disney star was 14 years old. Risque pictures of the tween superstar in various modes of undress, in the shower, suggestively pulling down various articles of clothing, etc. have been intentionally placed on her MySpace page and unintentionally surfaced on the internet. The controversies have just made Miley Cyrus a bigger star. Although the different scandals seemed to threaten her contract with Disney, Cyrus' popularity won out.

But what may have been the strangest controversy over pictures came with Miley Cyrus' photo shoot with Vanity Fair. Fox News took exception with one photo of Miley Cyrus with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, insinuating that it was inappropriate and looked incestuous. However, the uproar came from a photo that had a simple sheet draped over an obviously topless Miley Cyrus. Although tastefully done, many child advocate, conservative, and Christian groups were outraged, maintaining that, because of Cyrus' age, it bordered on child pornography.

(It should be suggested that those who called Miley Cyrus' parents child abusers and Vanity Fair a purveyor of child pornography have absolutely no clue about true child pornography or the implications, whether insinuated or stated outright, would never have been made.)

Adrienne Bailon Nude Pictures Scandal

Although it does not seem to be getting as much attention, the Adrienne Bailon nude photos scandal raged for a few days on the internet as well. The Cheetah Girls singer made news when pictures of her surfaced via blackmail scandal on the internet. TMZ reported that Bailon had left her laptop unattended at JFK Airport and was phoned later the same day with a ransom demand, which was met. Nude photos (Adrienne Bailon was actually clothed in revealing lingerie) of the singer, taken as a birthday present for her boyfriend, were missing, however, and became an internet sensation.

Nude photos seemed to be the rage in 2008. Jennifer Aniston posed nude for GQ. Some websites offered a reward for nude photos of Sarah Palin (one painter even caused a sensation in Chicago by painting Sarah Palin nude), but even though a faux Palin porn movie was produced (Hustler's "Who's Nailin' Paylin?") and she was offered money to pose nude and do a real adult movie, nothing has surfaced. Kate Winslet went au naturale for Vanity Fair and got miffed when it was suggested that her naked form was airbrushed.

Regardless of who was naked when and where, the scandals are resurfacing for a last-minute, end-of-the-year run. Call it Christmas porn. Call it art. Call it controversy. Call it whatever you like, Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus, and Adrienne Bailon made the nude photos scandals a clean sweep for Disney in 2008.
