I guess after his appearances on various reality shows DIY discovered that there may be more to Rob Van Winkle than trend setting hair styles, dated dance moves, and mad rhymes. Yo! What else could it be? Some tattooed backwards hat saggy pants wearing rapper rolls up to the studio in his chopped Mercedes with spinners and raps;
"I got an idea for a show. Yo!
You know you wanna give it a go.
I'm no Bob Villa and I don't pick poison ivy eitha.
I got windows, doors, and tile,
I've even got a guy who looks like Gomer Pile!
Word to your mutha."
What executive wouldn't be stunned into handing over the cash?
The Ice man hath cometh to Palm Beach Florida and started flipping million dollar homes. He has a crew of guys that look like him and are as smart as he is. And FYI that's pretty smart when it comes to renovation on a budget. Sure there is a bit of strife from time to time. This week over the tacky wall paper in the master bath but for Rob it all comes down to the bottom line. The foreman tells him the wall paper had to go because it was better for the bottom line and all is good again. On to the next project which was a hole in the roof that had been exacerbated by a recent hurricane. There was no time to waste with a thunderstorm on the horizon and the potential for disaster to rain down on the bathroom project that was underway. No problem, out on the roof they went and with the clouds about to cross their street the final seal was made.
Not only is Rob himself knowledgeable and even style savvy he surrounds himself with a crew that is as well. From remaking the garage with a mosaic floor and diamond plate walls accented with cupboards to cleaning out the decaying pool himself Mr. Van Winkle is a pro from start to finish. He paints ceilings and plants the landscaping. He pitches in and searches out fabulous deals to help keep the project on budget and on a reasonable time line.
It all goes to show you should never judge a rapper by his cover even if he claims it was changed just enough to be original.
