If your teenagers roll their eyes at the mere suggestion of going to the library to participate in the "teen night" activities, get their interest up by explaining just exactly what some of the activities are. For the budding artist in your family or the one who still enjoys playing with scissors - safely of course - glue, glitter and other similar items, there are arts and crafts nights. These are often held in conjunction with certain holidays or special events, such as Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year, or Valentine's Day.

For the teen who is glued to video games at home, unglue him or her long enough to take part in video game night at the library. Yes, he or she will still be playing video games, but at least they'll be doing it somewhere else. For more information, call the Royal Oak Public Library at 248-246-3725.
