VDOT Road Conditions Report, Weather Watch for March 2, 2009

If you happened to be among the unlucky folks to have gotten hit by the ice storm in Virginia, look no further for road reports. The VDOT has launched, on their website, the current conditions of roads. To see exact roads and conditions, you can click here to go to the site. However, an overview of the conditions follows below:

VDOT reports follow by county:

Accomack County: all of the primary and secondary roads have minor conditions due to ice patches.

Albemarle County: all of the primary and secondary roads have minor conditions due to ice patches.

Allegheny County: all of the secondary roads are moderate due to snow, but the urban roads are clear

Amelia County: all of the primary roads are minor due to ice patches, but the secondary and urban roads are severe due to deep snow.

Amherst County: all primary roads are minor due to ice, but all secondary roads are moderate due to snow.

Appomattox County: all secondary and urban roads are severe due to deep snow.

Arlington County: the interstate and primary roads are minor due to ice patches.

Augusta County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow.

Bath County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow and all urban routes are minor due to ice.

Bedford County: all primary routes are minor due to ice, secondary routes are severe due to deep snow, and urban routes are moderate due to snow.

Bland County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice.

Botetourte: all secondary routes are minor due to ice.

Brunswick County: interstates, primary, and secondary routes are minor due to ice

Buchanan County: primary and secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Buckingham County: primary routes are minor due to ice, secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Campbell County: all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow, except for Rt 716E, which is only minor due to ice and all urban roads are severe due to deep snow

Caroline County: all primary routes are moderate due to snow, all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow except for rt 633N and rt 633S, both of which are moderate due to snow

Carroll County: the interstate is minor due to ice, most primary are moderate due to snow, but a few are severe due to deep snow, and all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Charles City County: all primary routes are minor due to ice and all secondary and urban roads are moderate due to snow

Charlotte County: all primary and secondary routes are moderate due to snow, with VA-47, VA-47S, Rt 746N, and Rt 746S CLOSED in places.

Chesterfield County: all interstates, primary, secondary, and urban routes are moderate due to snow with Rt 611E, Rt 654N, and Rt 654S CLOSED in places.

Colonial Heights County: I-95N and I-95S are moderate from snow

Craig County: primary routes are minor due to ice and all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Culpeper County: US-15N and US-15S is minor due to ice and VA-3E and VA-3W are moderate due to snow. All secondary routes are moderate due to snow and all urban routes are clear.

Cumberland County: primary routes are minor due to ice and all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Dickenson County: all primary and urban routes are minor due to ice patches and all secondary routes are moderate due to snow.

Dinwiddie County: the interstates are minor due to ice patches, and all primary, secondary, and urban routes are moderate due to snow.

Emporia County: I-95N and I-95S are minor due to ice patches

Essex County: primary routes are moderate due to snow, secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Fairfax County: The interstates are minor due to ice patches with I-495N and I-495S being moderate in some places due to snow. Primary and secondary routes are mostly minor due to ice patches, with some being moderate, and all urban routes are moderate due to snow.

Fauquier County: all secondary and urban routes are severe due to deep snow

Floyd County: primary routes are moderate due to snow, secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Fluvanna County: all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Franklin County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches, all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Frederick County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Giles County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Gloucester County: most primary routes are minor, some are moderate. All secondary routes are severe due to deep snow except Rt 614N and Rt 614S are moderate. All urban routes are severe.

Goochland County: primary routes are mostly minor with some moderate, all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Grayson County: most primary and all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Greene County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Greensville County: I-95N and I-95S are minor due to ice patches and all secondary routes are moderate due to snow.

Halifax County: all primary and secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Hanover County: the interstates are moderate due to snow, most primary routes are minor with some moderate, all secondary routes are severe with Rt. 630 N and Rt. 630S CLOSED.

Henrico County: most interstates and primary routes are moderate, but a few are minor.

Henry County: primary routes are minor due to ice patches, all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow.

Highland County: all primary and secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Isle of Wight County: all primary roads are minor due to ice patches, all secondary routes are moderate due to snow.

James City County: interstates and primary routes are minor due to ice patches

King George County: primary roads are minor due to ice patches, secondary roads are all moderate due to snow with Rt 601E and Rt 601W CLOSED.

King William County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Lancaster County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches and all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Louisa County: all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Lunenburg County: all primary, secondary, and urban routes are minor due to ice patches

Mathews County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches, all secondary and urban routes are severe due to deep snow

Mecklenburg County: I-85N and I-85S and all primary, secondary, and urban routes are minor due to ice patches

Middlesex County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary and urban routes are severe due to deep snow

Montgomery County: I-81N and I-81S and all primary routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Nelson County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches, all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

New Kent County: I-64E and I-64W and all primary routes are minor due to patches of ice; all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Northampton County: all primary and secondary routes are minor due to ice patches; US-13 at the Chesapeake Bridge is under advisory due to high winds

Northumberland County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches, all secondary and urban routes are severe due to deep snow

Nottoway County: primary routes are minor due to ice patches; secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Orange County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches; all urban routes are clear

Patrick County: most primary and all urban routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Pittsylvania County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow with Rt 721E and Rt 721W CLOSED

Powhatan County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Prince Edward County: all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow; all urban routes are clear

Prince George County: all interstate, primary, and urban routes are minor; secondary routes are moderate due to snow with Rt 614E and Rt 614W CLOSED as they have been deemed impassable

Prince William County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches; all urban routes are clear

Pulaski County: all secondary, urban, and primary routes are minor due to ice patches

Richmond County: all primary routes are moderate due to snow; all secondary and urban routes are severe due to deep snow

Roanoke County: all secondary and urban routes are minor due to ice patches

Rockbridge County: all secondary and urban routes are minor due to ice patches

Rockingham County: all primary routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary and urban routes are moderate due to snow

Russell County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Shenandoah County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Smyth County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Southampton County: primary and secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

Spotsylvania County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow; all urban routes are minor due to ice patches

Stafford County: all primary and urban roads are minor due to ice patches; all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Surry County: primary routes are minor due to ice patches; secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Sussex County: I-95N and I-95S and all primary routes are minor due to ice patches; all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Tazewell County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches; all urban routes are clear

Washington County: all secondary routes are moderate due to snow

Westmoreland County: all primary routes are moderate due to snow; all secondary routes are severe due to deep snow

Wythe County: all secondary routes are minor due to ice patches

York County: primary routes are minor due to ice patches; US-17 Coleman Bridge advisory due to other weather
