Vegan Haiku

Leslie Reese, Nutritional Educator
What's the pleasure in

Endangerment of your health

For the sake of food

We don't need fast food

It's just convenient to us

Let's call it fast 'death'

Cheaper meals appeal

And packaged meals have shelf life

But is it worth it

Is it worth the weight

That most Americans gain

I do not think so

Is it worth your health

High cholesterol, blood pressure,

Diabetes too

An epidemic

Is occurring all around

All for convenience?

I do not get it

My body is worth much more

A blessing from God

Much like my children

Which I would like to see grow

And be smart with health

The example is

Ours to set to those around

Why not be stronger

Stand up for your health

Be kinder to animals

Help save the planet

Provide a future

That will be brighter for kids

Teach them compassion

Vegan is my way

For my health everyday

Lord, help me lead others

Help me show them truth

Truth from the lies they were taught

One like 'Drink your Milk'

Others like be sure

To eat your meat for protein

And cheese is healthy

Whole grains and fruits and

Vegetables are the foods

Made to sustain you

Good thoughts. Why kidd other animals to survive when it is not necessary? Because we can? Lousy reason.
