Just because you're vegan doesn't mean you don't want pizza! TJ Scallywaggles has a variety of vegan options from vegan chicken and meatball subs to vegan pepperoni, sausage, and meatball pizzas. In addition to pizza and subs Scallywaggles also serves some vegan dinner plates, salads, desserts, and smoothies. This place is great for vegan's just because you don't have to question whether or not you can eat a certain item on the menu, everything is vegan! The restaurant received an award for being one of the "Best of Boston" in 2007 for their tantalizing fare. T.J. Scallywaggles is open from noon to 11pm Sunday through Thursday, and noon to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant opens a little late on Tuesdays at 3pm.

Deep Ellum has a variety of vegan and non-vegan options on their menu so it can be a great place for vegans to go with their meat eating and vegetarian counterparts. Open from brunch to dinner the restaurant has over 22 different beers on tap, 100 bottled beers, and can make a variety of different cocktails as well. All of their food is prepared using organically grown produce; their "Home Cooking" menu contains a lot of favorites. Try the "Veggie Pot Pie" with veggies and vegan gravy in a homemade pastry. Dinner is served daily from 4:30 until midnight.

The hippie chick bakery is a great place to go if you are looking to purchase vegan dessert items. They cook a variety of baked good including special occasion and wedding cakes and are known for their dairy-free, egg-free, vegan, and gluten-free cake options. Their cakes are truly fabulous to look at and taste great that is something you don't always find in vegan baked goods.

Grasshopper is an all vegan dine in or take out restaurant. Everything on their menu is vegan, so once again you don't have to worry about what an item was cooked in, or ask a lot of questions about a dish before you order. Grasshopper is a Chinese restaurant, so they sell spring rolls, wontons, and dumplings as well as miso and hot and soup for appetizers. Their main dishes include a variety of items including several noodle plate options, seitains, tofu, and seafood style root vegetables. Dessert options at Grasshopper include tasty vegan cheesecake with strawberry or blueberry topping.
