The birth of Las Vegas was a long and hard journey however it was in the years 1930-1946 that the famous Casinos emerged after gambling was legalized in 1931. Gambling was now organized and legalized and Vegas grew from there into the gambling capital of the world. Racketeers and criminals soon realized the potential of Las Vegas they began to move into the strip and pump millions of dollars into this venture. Bye the year 1954 over eight million people were visiting Vegas however, gambling was no longer the only attraction.
The biggest stars of the day including Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and even Abbott and Costello were performing for tourists in Vegas. After being drawn into Vegas by the stars the customers would then need to be fed so gourmet restaurants were built in the hotels. When the customers had sated their appitite, gambling was readily available for all.
