Many of the hot spots you see on the Vegas movies are filmed on the "old strip" which is on Freemont Street. You'd recognize the Golden Nugget, Stardust, and Binions. These are some of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas, and have starred in most of the Las Vegas location films. The newer movies are focusing more on the newer Las Vegas Strip, and often times and will often times include clips of the beautiful Bellagio Hotel, accompanied by the Bellagio musical fountains. The Bellagio fountains are actually known to be one of the most romantic places to be in the entire US. The romance scenes you see on the movies that take place in front of these fountains, can be made into a real life scene for you on your trip. Walking across the street from the Bellagio is the Paris Hotel which is completely themed out in French fusion. Once you step inside, you'll forget you were in the US. Next to Paris you'll come face to face with Harrah's which has the largest outside Bar on the strip. The Venetian and the new Wynn Hotel is also in walking distance from the Bellagio and they are sure to be so Vegas destinations you won't want to miss.
Another popular place you'd catch a scene from a movie, would be at the famous Mirage hotel. This hotel is not only popular in the movies for the aquarium wall behind the hotel's front desk check-in, but it is also the home to the Siegfried and roy white tigers.
If you're looking to catch a party like the ones you may have witnessed in "What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas," the best place to visit is the Palms Hotel. This hotel is known for its exclusive bars, such as the Ghost Bar, and the Play Boy Lounge. You can often times even doing a little celebrity sitting at these popular spots. The Palms hotel is actually off of the Las Vegas Strip, but most of the hotels have a shuttle that run back and forth to the Rio Hotel which is across from the Palms Hotel, as well as the Palms hotel itself.
On the other side of the Las Vegas Strip, you'll find popular hotels that may not have necessarily made it into the camera's spot light, but that shouldn't put a shadow on elaborate details that go on in every one of those popular hotels. Thankfully, there is now a tram that runs from one side of the strip to the other. This way, you won't have to miss out on visiting Mandalay Bay, which has the only desert beach with man-made ocean attached in the back of the hotel. Next to Mandalay Bay, you can visit New York, New York, which has the largest ride attraction on the strip. There is a roller coaster that wraps completely around the hotel for those who are not faint of heart. Across from New York, New York is the MGM in which you can find Emeril's Restaurant and many other fine dining options. Finally, you can't leave Vegas without visiting the famous Luxor. The Luxor hosts a smaller replica of the Egyptian Sphinx and a light beaming out of the top of the pyramid that can actually be viewed from the moon on a clear day.
Vegas will require a good amount of walking, but there are ways of cutting it down by the sky tram, taxis, buses and shuttles. Renting a car is not advised due to parking conditions. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to see all Vegas has to offer and to revisit everything you've seen in the movies.
