The poker room at Caesars Palace has 30 tables to fulfill all of your poker needs, plus, it has a separate tournament poker room that has 30 more tables that are used exclusively for tournaments.
In October, Caesars is going to host it's first $10,000 event - the Caesars Palace Classic. They're guaranteeing $1,000,000 dollars for first place to this event and are giving away a number of seats in freerolls and promotions in the months leading up to it.
The room itself is spacious - plenty of room to walk around or have a friend sit with you at the table, unlike some other Las Vegas poker venues where it's almost impossible to walk between the tables. Food service is available in the room - the prime rib chili being one of the favorites of the players who frequent the room.
Following the WSOP, Caesars is revamping it's tourney schedule to feature a number of deep stack events in which players will receive a ton of chips in their daily tourneys. Tourneys occur daily at 9, 12, 3, 7, and 11pm. Buy in's range from $65 on up to $540 on the weekends. The great thing about their tourneys are that there are always large fields - I would say the tourneys average 150 players, and often attract up to 250 or 300 players. So for some relatively low buy ins you can compete for some rather large prize pools.
The staff is very professional - and there is usually a very short wait to be seated at the table of your choice. Limits range from 3 - 6 limit on up to 10 - 25 no limit on the weekends. The 1 - 3 no limit game is popular with a buy in of $100 to $500 dollars, while the 2 - 5 no limit game on up feature no cap on the buy ins.
The poker room also features high hand jackpots for any quads or straight flushes. In the month of September, the poker room is running a promotion where the high hand of the day on every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday throughout the month receives a seat into the Caesars Palace Classic. That's $120,000 dollars worth of seats they're giving away.
Most of the players in the room are tourists - with a few Vegas locals frequenting the games. The atmosphere is pleasant and the excitement of most sporting events can be seen on the numerous plasma screens throughout the room.
Next time you're in Sin City - be sure to check out Caesars poker room. Play a tourney or sit in a live game. It truly is one of the best poker rooms in a city filled with options.
