Vegas Style Wedding Reception Table Themes

If you are getting married and planning for a wedding reception you may have found yourself stumped on ideas on how to decorate the wedding reception tables. Try a Las Vegas style theme. Below you will find five different Las Vegas style themed wedding reception ideas with how to guides for each of them.

1. Deck O' Cards Table
This theme is super easy, super quick and inexpensive. Basically it is the heart and soul of Las Vegas. First you will need to get black and white table cloths. Try to find ones with stripes in them that have smaller and bigger stripes in a pattern. After you place your table cloth over the table, then place a deck of cards, separated, on top of the table. Try to use different suits and different numbers. Place some with the numbers up and then the numbers down. After you do this you can either cover the table with a glass cut out to secure the cards in place and with the glass u will be able to see through to the cards and table cloth. If glass is to expensive then look into buying a clear table cloth cover to place over the cards and other table cloth.

To add spice to the table use table setting name cards with the persons name written on a deck of cards. The centerpiece of the table could be a deck of cards (the whole deck) stacked up with other decks into a tower house for stability. The ideas on how to decorate the table are endless.

2. Elvis Baby
I don't know about you but when I think of Las Vegas, Elvis comes to my mind. You can easily decorate your wedding reception tables with a white table cloth. Head on over to www.photoshop.com and find pictures of Elvis and save the good ones to your computer. Pick out as many you need (or at least as many tables as you have) and then upload them to a photo printing website or www.walgreens.com and enlarge the photos to poster frame size. After you have blown up each picture get them laminated and place tape on the bottom of the poster. Use double sided tape for this. Place the picture in the middle of the table.

For name cards just use a plain white tag style card with the person name typed on it. On the back of the card have one famous song from Elvis on each card.

3. Lights, Camera, Vegas
Lights seem to be bigger and brighter in Las Vegas. This table idea will be a great one if you want low lighting at your wedding reception, but still want your table to stand out. Simply cover the table with a black table cloth. Buy a glass plastic cylinder about a foot high and 6 inches in diameter. You can usually find those at any local party store or even at Wal-Mart. Drill a hole in the bottom of the cylinder big enough for an electrical plug to go through. Also you are going to need to drill the same size hole in the middle of the table and in the middle of the table cloth. Next you want to bunch 2 strands of multi-colored Christmas lights (100 lights per strand) into the cylinder. Make sure you replace one of the lights with a blinking light bulb. String through the electrical plug through the hole in the bottom of the cylinder and the table so you can plug the light switch into an electrical plug under the table. Once the lights are plugged in and the main lights in the room are cut off or at least dimmed down very low, the colored lights will blink which will remind you of the blinking signs in Las Vegas. 4. Lazy Susan - Nah Lazy Dart Board!
This theme has to be my favorite one of all. Place either a green, black or white table cloth onto the table. In the center of the table place a lazy susan spinning table. On top of the lazy susan hot glue a dart board. Make sure your dart board is bigger then your lazy susan spinner. You may have to sand down the sides of the lazy susan to make this happen. With the dart board in place you can use photo stand holders you place pictures of the lovely couple or better yet, stab in those darts and tape on name tags to the end to let people know where they will be sitting!

5. Feather with Flowers, PLEASE
If you still would like to be more conservative with your Las Vegas themed reception table then lets look into something modern yet fun. With a glass vase, make sure it is scare with solid, flat sides, and start with bright flowers, use ones that will match your color theme of your wedding, but add more to it as well. Instead of greenery for a base to the flower bouquet, use feathers. Since you are going to have colorful flowers I would stick to white feathers for the filler and the greenery part. However, if you want colorful feathers then you can either stick with basic flower colors or just make sure the bright feathers do not clash with the flowers that you chose to use. Consult a florist before making the final production on what colors will look better with the flowers and feathers combined.

On two opposite sides of the vase, hot glue either dice pieces (2 rows with either 3 to 5 dice per row) or you could hot glue a fan style hand of cards. Don't forget you could also use poker chips as well. You just are adding a finishing touch to the vase to throw in the Vegas theme. Place the bouquet in the middle of the table on top of a table cloth that will accent the color of the flowers.
