Radishes are a great choice for kids because they grow quickly, you can usually eat them within a month. While these are great choices for beginning vegetable gardeners, don't feel intimidated by other vegetables. Growing vegetables that you like is important, and all it takes is a little research and you can grow almost any vegetable.

You will also need to make sure to weed your garden regularly. Before you know it your vegetables will be ready to pick and eat.
If you are interested in vegetable gardening but you don't have the time or space to do it, another option is herb gardens. Growing things is very rewarding and a great learning experience for kids. Anybody can plant a vegetable garden. Vegetable gardening is so easy, and with vegetables being so good for you it is great for your health too.
