Vegetarian Celebrity: Alyssa Milano
Alyssa Milano was born December 19, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Lin Milano, fashion designer, and Thomas Milano, film music editor. Her first casting was by mistake when she went with her babysitter to an open audition for "Annie" and ended up touring as one of the orphans at the age of seven. After 18 months on tour Alyssa began to be featured in off-Broadway shows and commercials. In 1983 the Milano family moved to Hollywood California when she accepted the role in the "Who's the Boss" sitcom.
Alyssa Milano: Vegetarian (or Vegan?)
Alyssa Milano first turned vegetarian after the September 11th attacks. She stated that a friend of hers came back from New York and said he could not stand the smell of burnt flesh and it immediately reminded her of a barbeque. There is controversy as to whether Alyssa Milano is truly Vegan or just a vegetarian, but as a supporter of PETA she is indeed an animal lover. Her quote on PETA does state, "The world has so much suffering in it already-choosing to be vegetarian is one thing you can do to reduce the suffering on a daily basis."

1984-1992-Alyssa Milano played the character of Samantha Micelli on the hit TV sitcom "Who's the Boss" alongside Tony Danza and Judith Light.
1998-2006-Alyssa Milano played the character of Phoebe Halliwell in the TV series "Charmed".
