Velvet Skin Coat by DHC is Definitely Worth a Try

I never really knew the point of wearing a makeup primer until I tried the Velvet Skin Coat by DHC. I used to use pretty good makeup primers and they were good at hiding my imperfections but it did not really matter because I would put on the foundation and the concealer which did a good job. And for me, the longer lasting makeup meant nothing because I never wore makeup that long. So, I felt that the makeup primer was a waste of money for me, but my mom swears by them so I was just so used to wearing them. This was before trying the Velvet Skin Coat.

Just one swipe and I was in love. It goes on so smooth and silky, I could not stop touching my face. It was so smooth and the smoothness lasted all day. I mentioned before in the Pores No More review that the Pores No More also gives a super silky feeling and the Velvet Skin Coat is much better and lasts much longer.

The main ingredient of the Velvet Skin Coat is the dimethicone, which is in many other makeup primers including Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel, which isn't even a makeup primer, but works great as a makeup primer. But, I like the Velvet Skin Coat a lot better than any other makeup primers. I think this is just for me because I have some clogged pores which appear as small bumps and the Velvet Skin Coat covers them up and makes them appear so smooth.

But, even this lovely Velvet Skin Coat had its flaws that made me stop using it. First, it contains no SPF, which is ok, since it is better to use a separate sunscreen for the face for better protection and to minimize sensitivity anyways. But, what I really did not like was that this gave me breakouts. It was not serious, but every time I used this, I ended up with one of two zits at the end of the day. Flawless skin for the day meant nothing to me if the cost was getting more zits.

So, my favorite primer is something that I cannot even use. But, if I did not get breakouts, this would be my primer for life. So, this is something that is definitely worth trying. And even if I do breakout, I use this on very special occasions if I need it, when I have a lot of bumps, to look flawless.
