VEMMA stands for Vitamins, Essential Minerals, Mangosteen, and Aloe Vera. Those unfamiliar with mangosteen may want to read my article on it here. In a nutshell, it is a tropical fruit grown in Southeast Asia that is very rich in antioxidants. Out of about 200 known xanthones (biologically active plant nutrients with antioxidant properties), mangosteen contains over 40. The fruit has been known and valued for centuries for its anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal qualities.
Vemma has been developed by Dr. Wang, "a physician with a background in both Eastern and Western medicine," as stated on the company's website. It is a 100% natural, plant-based, liquid nutritional supplement that contains 12 full-spectrum vitamins and over 65 major, trace and ultra-trace minerals (the minerals are plant-derived and therefore organic). This is all a human body needs to balance itself, function the way it should, and fight illnesses. Being bioavailable (body-ready) and liquid, Vemma goes to work the moment you take it, and is absorbed at a 98% rate. That's impressive, keeping in mind that pills are only absorbed at a 10-20% rate.
My husband and I thought ourselves relatively healthy, but we knew the importance of supplementing, so we had decided to start taking Vemma, mostly for future illness prevention. My husband had had quicker results, he went through major detoxing and lost about 10 pounds in the first several days. He reported sleeping better and having more energy. After several weeks, his gums had stopped bleeding when he brushed his teeth - an issue he'd had for years. After two months of taking the supplement, his blood pressure normalized, going down from 155 over 90 to 119 over 60. He also considered going to the doctor and getting checked for diabetes since he had always felt thirsty; that issue was gone within the first week.
My results were more gradual and subtle, which is normal for someone in decent health. I also had my blood pressure go down, and my occasional headaches decreased. I noticed that I was not getting tired as much as before. I lost some weight, too, without changing my diet or doing anything else.
A monthly supply of Vemma comes in two 1 quart bottles ($60 + shipping & tax) or 30 small, 2 ounce bottles, each one containing your daily dose ($70 + shipping & tax). The big bottles come with a little measuring glass, known as "shot glass". Vemma can be taken at any time, before, with, or after meal. Most people I know prefer to take their shot in the morning. Some report experiencing upset stomach when they first start taking the supplement. In such cases, it is recommended to cut the daily dose in half for a while.
Most people new to Vemma wonder about its taste. I can honestly say that I love it. It is somewhat citrusy, a bit on the strong side but still, to me, very pleasant. I prefer it cold, right out of the fridge. Those who find the taste too strong can take their Vemma with water or any kind of juice, simply by adding the daily dose into it. Watering or "juicing" down will not affect Vemma's quality.
Vemma can be also used topically, to treat slow-healing sores, burns, and skin problems. I even used it on my cat who had some strange pink bump under its chin, and it was gone after a couple of applications.
The important thing with Vemma, I've learned, is consistency. Your body needs the essential nutrients every day, so no skipping, no "forgetting," no "oh, I don't feel any different so I'll stop taking it." Be responsible. It's about your health. I could have quit after the first month - and never see my blood pressure go down, which had happened on month three.
After our good results with Vemma, my husband has become a distributor. Vemma's compensation plan is a subject for a different article; all I will say here that we have no complaints, we like the system. Our first goal was to get our own Vemma paid for, and we have accomplished that.
