While the shop offers good pizza, for the student on the budget who wants something a little more substantial than a pack of Ramen noodles should try their personal strombolis or calzones. Do not let the name personal fool you into thinking that they are small. For about $5, one can get a good sized portion to get one through the day or possibly make several meals out of. Not only are they sizable both are stuffed with various meats and cheeses.
What if you don't want a stromboli or calzone? Well I mentioned before that it is a pizzeria. The pizzas are a little bit on the expensive size and a little too rich on crust but the taste is excellent. If memory servers, a large pizza will run you about $12. Like many local pizzerias in the area you can have your pizza delivered, but if a dine-in experience is more of what you had in mind there is a sizable dining area, several arcade games, and a juke box on the inside.
If pizzas, strombolis, or calzones do not suit you, there is always the fallback of a sub or salad. Like other pizzerias various dishes from the south of Italy are offered. Unfortunately, if you want to get beer or wine you will need to run to one of the state owned liquor stores or a beer distributor. Pennsylvania law only allows places with a liquor license to serve alcoholic beverages at a food establishment. Grocery and convenience stores do not carry suds in the commonwealth.
If you are up late studying or in the much less likely event that you have been partying for a good portion of the night, do not worry. Venari's stays open late, usually until one or two in the morning and slightly later on the weekends. So if you are attending Bucknell, live in the area, or are merely passing through your taste buds will thank you if you take a brief stop in the storefront or call them up and order.
