If you want to be a vendor, there are a few things you should know. First there is room for around fifth booths so you'll want to get your application in early. One space is approximately 10 X 10. If you need more space, you'll need to rent two spaces. Coverings and tables are not provided so you need to bring your own. There is no electricity at the event so you'll need to bring a generator if you want lights after dark.
Pride is going to be located at Stramler Park. The address is 3805 Chester Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301. Set up is at 1 PM and Pride starts at 3 PM and ends at 9 PM. You have until 10 PM to be cleared out of the area.
There will be a vendor only gate at Pride. The gate will open at 1 PM and closing at 3 PM. It will reopen at 8:45 PM so you may move your stuff back out. No vehicles are allowed on the grounds so you will need dollies and carts to bring your stuff to your space. Booths are required to stay open until 8:30 PM. If you close early without talking to the Pride Committee, you will not receive your cleaning deposit back.
All applications for a booth are reviewed by the Pride Committee. Pride doesn't want a lot of the same kinds of booths so if there are already a certain amount of the same kind of booth signed up, you may not get in. Beverages are not allowed to be sold by vendors as Bakersfield LGBTQ is in charge of selling drinks at Pride.
If you have a food booth, you must provide your own fire extinguisher. Food booths must also have a Kern County Health Inspection certificate displayed during the event. You also must be insured and list Bakersfield LGBTQ as the additionally insured.
Bakersfield LGBTQ has opportunity drawings and request that each vendor donates one item for the drawing. You will receive promotional credit on site. Donating an item not only helps Bakersfield LGBTQ but you as well because it helps spread the word about your products.
Pride will be held no matter what the weather is. Application fees are non refundable (except the cleaning fee). Two Pride tickets are included with your approved application. If you have other helpers you will need to buy tickets for them to get into Pride. Tickets are available a discount price of $7 dollars but if you buy them the day of the event, they go up to $10 dollars. Booth prices range from $40 to $50 dollars. The cleaning deposit is $20 dollars.
