Wondering where to go for the best pizza in Richardson, Texas? So was I. There are a lot of great pizza joints in Dallas, but the idea of spending a half hour on the freeway to get to them can kill my appetite.

Fortunately I discovered the perfect place to get the best pizza in Richardson just down the street from where I live. Apparently it's a well kept secret because after living in Richardson for a year and driving past the place almost every day, I never noticed it.

The place is The Venezia Italian Café and it is a jewel. From the moment I walked through the front door I was captivated by its authentic Italian charm and the aroma of fresh hot pizza.

The walls are a soft terracotta color, the tables are sturdy dark wood with candles flickering in the center of each one, the light fixtures on the walls are dim and romantic, and the beautiful framed paintings on the walls give the place an even more authentic Italian feel.

The Venezia Italian Café is owned and operated by an Italian family and their passion for great food and service shines through.

My party was seated immediately upon arriving at the Venezia Italian Cafe. The waiter took our drink order and delivered it quickly. We were also served two small loaves of warm fresh baked bread. The bread itself was delicious but nothing compared to the pizza that arrived on our table a short while later.

The pizza we chose was a large Special on thin crust. The crust was baked crispy on the outside, but soft and warm once you bit into it. The toppings exploded with flavor and the cheese was amazing. After just one taste I could honestly say this was the best pizza in Richardson.

Pizza hut doesn't come close. Domino's is nothing compared to this. I've tried a lot of amazing pizza in Richardson, but for the price, location, and overall quality and great taste of the pizza at the Venezia Italian Café, it's the best.

We paid $15.00 for the large pizza and it was huge. The overall price range for pizzas is $7.00 - $20.00. There are other Italian foods available at the Venezia Italian Café as well; I haven't tried them myself but I've heard they're great.

In addition to serving the best pizza in Richardson there is another special thing about the Venezia Italian Café. You can bring your own beer and wine to drink while you enjoy your pizza or other dishes.
