Venting Your Indoor Garden

Peter Moore
If you grow a garden indoors you know how hot it can be in the summer. Often times it's too hot to keep your gardening from dyeing. Many people see this as a time to just shut it down for a while. Many of the options are too loud and others are just very expensive.

The easiest way to keep it quiet and cool is modding the Lasko Platinum Desktop Wind Tower. Now this is an easy mod to do so don't stop reading now. By the way the wind tower sounds big but it's about the size of a basketball. You can find these fans at Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes and other places. You also can order them online from many sites. Do not pay more than 50 dollars for the blower. Some sites seem to try and charge double for these since some people have problems finding them. Don't overpay.

Depending on your room you are going to need some type of ducting. The best to use is dryer ducting since it can handle hot air. Now you need to find the source of the heat. For another article this also works great when you want to air cool your light. Most of the time the heat will come from the ballast of your light or right by the bulb but it can be somewhere else. Now run the ducting from the hot spot to the side of the blower that is the intake. Take duct tape and attach the ducting to the intake. Block off the rest of the intake with the tape.

Now the blower is taking the air from the hot spot and blowing it from the front of the blower. Now we need to run the air from the front of this to outside or into another room. You can purchase an adapter that will be able to cover the front of the blower and be able to easily attach to ducting. Now run the ducting from the front to outside of your area. Take duct tape and make sure there are no air holes letting the hot air out.

On the other side of the blower there are three settings. Adjust to get the temperature of your indoor garden correct. This is an easy and cost effective way to cheaply cool your indoor garden.
