Verizon Announces Restructuring How Will it Affect You?

News alert: October 2009. Verizon Communications Inc. announced a restructuring of the company's services and products. The Verizon Chairman, Irvan G. Seidenberg made the announcement concerning the restructuring. This restructuring is a part of a strategic plan by Verizon to create growth and to achieve advancement in productivity.

The restructuring will combine Verizon Telecom with Verizon Business into one organization. This new organization will be known as "Verizon Wireline". Lowell McAdam, the Vice President and CEO of Verizon Wireless will maintain his position. Seidenburg continues, "As Verizon expands, we will resist the natural inclination to add complexity to deal with an increasing number of issues and interfaces," he added. "We will simplify how we work on behalf of our customers and our investors to capitalize on our strong position in our markets, and to achieve our potential for higher levels of growth."
