Vermilion Border

Vermilion border does not refer to a war torn nation or pathway to avoid. The vermilion border is the demarcation between the red of your lips and the surrounding skin. Why is everyone talking about your vermilion border?

As winter approaches, chapped lips become a common problem. Dryness around the vermilion border shows your lips are chapped. Soften your lips with products such as ChapStick, Blistex or a simple coat of petroleum jelly.

Another concern is cold sores around the vermilion border and lips. Medical News today offers excellent information about the cause and treatment of cold sores for healthier, more attractive lips.

Wikipedia indicates the vermilion border is important in oral pathology and dentistry to detect diseases. The vermilion border represents the change in epidermis from highly kerantinized external skin to less kerantinized internal skin.

How does your vermilion border look? Are your lips dry from the winter weather?
