Veteran's Day

November 11, 2009
I walk along side the Air Force Cadets in line.
It is a long walk on this windy day
But they proudly march under the sky so gray.

They carry the flags as high as they go
Incessantly marching they follow the flow.
Although fatigued their heads they hold high
In honor of all those who now live in the sky.

Some citizens wave the small flags in the wind
Others salute, their medals proudly pinned.
Many display "Thank You For Your Service" signs
And others clap as the Servicemen walk by in lines.

All military forces are present on this day
Veterans from yesterday, tomorrow, and today.
Tears start streaming down my face as I see
How grateful these people are for their freedom to be.
