Veterans Day is coming up on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, bringing a host of activities for our military personnel to Nashville. Nashville Veterans Day activities include a book signing with author James Lee McDonough, free admission to the Nashville zoo for military personnel and their families, a free concert taping for the movie A Pure Country Gift, a special dinner and program at First Baptist Church Downtown, and of course, the annual Veterans Day Parade! Lipscomb University Presents James Lee McDonough

David Lipscomb University is hosting a book signing with well-known Civil War historian James Lee McDonough at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11.

Admission to Nashville Zoo

The Nashville Zoo is offering free admission on Veterans Day to active military personnel, veterans and their families. With military ID, servicemen and their families can get in for free during the zoo's normal hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Veterans Day.

Concert Taping for "A Pure Country Gift"

There will be a free concert taping for the movie A Pure Country Gift featuring George Strait and Katrina Elam at the Municipal Auditorium in Downtown Nashville from 10 AM to 4 PM on Veterans Day. First Baptist Church Downtown Dinner & Program for Vets

First Baptist Church downtown will host a Veterans Day dinner for First Baptist veterans and their spouses on November 11, and have an evening program featuring the testimony of a World War II veteran who was assigned to the USS Indianapolis.

Nashville Veterans Day Parade

Of course, the most popular event for Veterans Day is Nashville's annual Veterans Day Parade. The 2009 Veterans Day parade is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. on Broadway.
