Vets Expire

I saw a homeless female military veteran on the TV the other day. I did not think that such a thing could be. Surely the social structure inherent to women or the legendary compassion of the liberals who now run the military would make certain that no veteran and certainly no female veteran would ever find herself cold, crazy and alone on the street.

In truth, that situation was so bizarre that I fear I am helpless to fix it. However, I did consider the following. Not all of the benefits that the government gives to veterans last forever. And in particular, the educational benefits that are veterans of the military are eligible for expire at a date certain even if that veteran already paid some of his own money into that benefit into order to increase its value to him.

Look, I understand that there may be those who say to hell with the vets who do not jump their benefits like a johnny on the spot or like a duck on a June bug. Let 'em eat cake in the sewer with rats! You've got to give that health care and those jobs to those deserving illegal aliens STAT!!! No veterans need apply!

But for those of you who think that maybe veterans did something you'd rather not do and that maybe, if they did their service honorably, they should be cut some of the less expensive breaks around concerning benefits they already earned anyway. Why not make it so veterans education benefits never expire? When they are used up, hey, that's the breaks. You are out of luck. But if just when the veteran needs to be retrained out of the buggy whip industry because a recession hits, he finds the funds he already paid for dried up and blew away, that hardly seems fair. Okay so you have to let all the existing veterans bite the bullet because someone has too, but I think we could give the illegal aliens a little less ObamaCare and a tad fewer American jobs and give that money over to benefits for the new veterans instead. What do you say?

Strictly speaking, it wasn't the bribes and extortion that brought the party down, it was the revealing of the bribes and extortion that did it.

For years some had wondered why after 9/11 democrats and republicans in the senate, the house of representatives and even the presidency worked together to allow drug lords, murderers, thieves, terrorists and job stealing illegal aliens across the border with Mexico. At last it was revealed that almost every high official in every agency of government was taking a bribe.

First and foremost they were taking bribes from all the huge mega corporations. The corporations didn't want workers they wanted slaves they could mistreat, pay next to nothing wages for and pay no benefits to. In the millions of illegals crossing the border, the corporations got the cheap, slave labor they had long sought. All they had to do was to bribe presidents, congress and the senate to do it. The had to bribe a DEA and border security official now and then as well but for them it was well worth it.

Some wondered after it was revealed that almost every terrorist who attacked the United States on 9-11 was from an oil exporting country why the US did not move heaven and earth to get off of foreign oil. Why did we insist on paying terrorists to kill us? Why did we become more slavish to foreigners and their oil? Why did we keep sending trillions of dollars out of the country?

Again it was revealed that presidents, congressmen and senators had all been successfully bribed to kill the US oil industry and make the United States completely dependent on foreign energy. The Climate Change/Global Warming scams was the most fortuitous part of the conspiracy. Because of these bogus frauds people could be counted on not to think for themselves. And since almost all the news media had been bribed to repeat the lie, almost no one would realize that if Climate Change or Global Warming were true only China with over billion souls under it's command could fix it. Nothing that was done in the west would have any effect on it. Nevertheless with every idiot in America repeating the obvious lie that America was an evil energy hog killing the planet, it was easier to destroy the domestic energy production. This made the US completely dependent on the foreign, oil exporting nations bribing congress, the senate and the president. The bonus was to tell any moron who would buy it that we would magically switch to alternative energy one day. It was not that the alternatives didn't exist. This was not the scam. Rather one in government ever moved a single centimeter in the direction of creating effective alternative energy sources. For instance, for the money the government wasted enough money every year paying communist front groups to organize communities, to pay for the the alternative energy infrastructure several times over. For just $2 trillion dollars the US could be completely run off solar energy in ten years. The only reason why it was not done was that congress, the senators and the president had already taken bribes for which they promised they would do no such thing. The government of the United States took bribes from oil producing foreign countries for the expressed purpose of keeping the US enslaved to foreign energy.

Washington DC had been bought and it stayed bought.

Any promises politicians make about what's in the health care bill are all lies. The reason we know this for certain is that congressmen and senators have already admitted they don't read the bills they vote on. If you don't read the bill, it's dishonest to say you know what's in it. You don't know. You can't possibly know. And after reconciliation when crap and garbage appears mysteriously in the bill, almost no one will know what's in it.

Which existing government program is run so well that you believe the government should also run 1/6 of the economy?

The best proof that health care reform is a political act and not economic reform is the failure of its proponents to respond to legitimate economic criticisms.

The federal government sat around with its thumb up its ass as the world's greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression happened all around it. The response of the federal government once they did decide to act was to give trillions of dollars of tax money to the very people whose insane speculative investments had caused the collapse. You want more of that-in your health care?

While the Federal Government is ferreting out old waste, fraud, and abuse, new, high-tech fraud will be perpetrated behind their backs. The new fraud will be more expensive and harder to detect. What did you think, the criminals would wait for us until we catch up?

A rising form of healthcare abuse will be Medical Identity Theft. Sure there will be folks pretending to patients who will get relatively small reimbursements but the real money will be in pretending to be insurance companies, clinics, hospitals and doctors. One of the aims of Universal Health Care is to automate the system. What this means is the identification of who gets the money will all be done electronically. Massive health care cyber fraud will surely follow. The crooks will be able to steal more, faster. Some of the crooks will be beyond our reach. They will strike from countries that do not like us and would love to bleed us dry.

So how will the government spend your health care dollars? Maybe like this:

The Pentagon paid $998,798 to ship two 19 cent washers

$9000 wrench, $400 hammer, and $600 toilet seat

Medicare pays 4 times the cost for a wheelchair

Congressman Charlie Rangel loses $500,000 of his own money between the seat cushions of his couch. How careful will he be with your tax dollars-money that isn't even his.

If Obama really can save half a trillion on Medicare, how come his 2011 isn't balanced?

Either Obama is right and he can truly cut $500 billion of waste, fraud and abuse out of the Medicare budget or Medicare dependent seniors must die when $500 billion is cut from muscle and bone because there really wasn't that much fat.

No one has identified exactly where this $500 billion of waste fraud and abuse is. Rather President Barack Hussein Obama has given an example or two where money might be wasted and estimated or projected the rest of the savings. What we need to know then is just how good Obama is at projecting things. Do we have an example of where he has made financially based projections? In fact we do. The Obama administration enacted an economic stimulus package. Obama said that the stimulus package would keep unemployment below 8%. Unemployment actually went up to 10%

Is there any more evidence on the government's ability to estimate costs. Yes. Cash for Clunkers. Their original estimate was that the program could be completed for $1 billion. After that estimate was quickly shown to be wrong, they three an additional $2 billion at the problem.

Government Track record

Obama has promised to run up trillion-dollar deficits as long as he is president. Doesn't that mean we are already out of money? Is he going to print the trillions of additional dollars and run up inflation or borrow them from China?

Well maybe our current government isn't good at managing money, or making estimates or projections. Surely government did a bang up job of these tasks in the past:

In 1966 Medicare cost $3 billion. The House Ways and Means committee projected that the cost in 1990 would be $9 billion. The actual cost was $67 billion.

Different researchers have examined different aspect of Medicare costs but all of them peg the growth in to be at least 7 times higher than projected. Remember that the next time someone in government tells you how much Universal health care will cost in 10 years.

The government has over $50 trillion in unfunded liabilities before Universal Health Care comes in. Since we don't know where all that money is coming from, where will money for health care on top of this come from?

To be entirely fair to government, health care is not the only place they have mismanaged costs, consider the list below. It was the US federal government lack of oversight and mismanagement of the first item in the list that bankrupted almost all the world economies.
1. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
2. Amtrak
3. Senate Restaurant
4. Medicare and Medicaid cost containment and control
5. Paying for social security over the next 50 years
6. Presenting a balanced budget every year
7. Reducing the Deficit to zero
8. Reducing the National Debt to zero.
9. The post office

There are no economic reasons to give the government more control over health care given that it has financially botched everything it has touched. Government healthcare is a political move not an economic one.

If Obama is trying to trash the dollar, destroy capitalism, and reduce the United States to a third world nation, he needs to do health care reform. Those who don't want those things to happen must oppose health care reform.
