VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Presents Sober House Season 2 Episode 1 & 2 Day 1-4 Recap

Let the Sobriety Begin!

Days 1-4

The five returning cast members from Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab Season 3 arrived at the VH1 Sober House one week after treatment. This is a spin off from the two other Dr. Drew shows Celebrity Rehab and Sex Rehab. There is a mix of cast members from each season. If you completed treatment you are always welcome in sober house. The house is managed by former model and addict Jennifer Gimenez. Please keep in mind that the cast is paid to appear on the show.

You can view my recaps of previous Celebrity Rehab 3 episodes : 1-3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

Difference between Sober House and Rehab

Sober House differs from rehab in a lot of important ways. Rehab is a life saving measure to prevent the addiction from harming you or other people. To get you sober enough to see that you have a problem and it requires attention. Rehab is safe because everything is controlled and monitored. Sober House moves you back into society and is meant to be a transitional period. Anyone can stay sober in rehab because they don't have any drugs there. Sober House is supervised, but not controlled. Also you can leave the grounds as long as you are in by curfew. It's life training for how to start your life over after addiction.

Sober House Website Complaints

I would provide you with links to the Sober House 2 VH1 page, but they haven't felt the need to update it again. I'm not sure what it is about Viacom controlled companies and their useless web pages, but MTV and even CMT is the same way. I mean what is the point of having a show that promotes a website that doesn't exist yet? Gross incompetence.

Sober House Staff

-Jennifer Gimenez (Sober House Manager)
-Bob Forrest (Head Counselor)
-Dr. Drew (outpatient counseling)
-Will Smith (Rehab Tech aka Junkie Bouncer)

Tom "It's a set up" Sizemore is actor of the year

House Mom Jennifer finds a crack pipe in Tom's bag he opts for the Marion Barry defense of "I had no idea." He tested clean though so nothing came of it. He either knew about it or honestly had no idea. I mean when you're a junkie you have stuff lying around all over the place.

Dennis Rodman won't sign the agreement

This one is real quick. He refuses to sign and acts like a jerk about it. Finally he signs as if it was no big deal. This stinks of being staged. I mean I know Dennis can be strange but I think he knows he has to sign stuff.

Kari Anne Peniche does more in 2 episodes than most in a season

This is one busy lady. She arrives and tests positive for Meth. She then starts treat Jennifer like crap. The rest of the cast can't stand her. Dr. Drew thinks she's high right now because this is what she's like when she's high. Kari Anne Peniche is letting Celebrity Rehab co-star Mindy McCreedy live in her house. She wants to go home so she can insure that Mindy isn't stealing sensitive tapes. The sex tape on her hard drive have Kari Anne and Mindy lounging about naked and apparently stoned with Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart. She tries to go home and then the driver informs her that they have to return to Sober House which makes her flip out and punch a camera man. The camera man curses and asks for ice or a water bottle for his eye. She gets the boot and everyone is happy to see her go. The rest of the cast also feel that she should be charged with assault. You can hit people and stay in Sober House.

Stupid Real World Like Job Stunt

Bob Forrest feels they should get day-to-day jobs to reconnect with society. This is stupid and staged. Of course they are going to hate working at an Industrial Laundry. People who do that for a living don't like it, why would famous rich people enjoy it? This is a Real World like stunt, let's see what these people are like at a normal job. They are inducing stress on purpose and impeding this as a productive activity. Tom Sizemore said in reference to Dennis Rodman, "Why does he (Rodman) need a job he's the greatest rebounder of all time, that is his job." I have to agree. I mean people in crappy jobs also use drugs to get over how much their jobs sucks. I don't see how this will help.
