Viagra Oysters: A Dangerous Twist to an Aphrodisiac

Oysters, the slimy loved seafood, have been deemed as having a lot of nutritional values for centuries. They are considered to be one of the most nutritionally well balanced foods containing protein, carbohydrates, vitamins A, thiamin (B1), riboflavin(B2), niacin(B3), ascorbic acid(vitamin C), calciferol, as well as the recommended daily allowance of iron, copper, iodine, magnesium, calcium, zinc, manganese, and phosphorus.

Oysters are also considered an ideal food for low cholesterol diets. The only caution is that because raw foods carry bacteria, that is including oysters, people with chronic liver disease, impaired immune systems or cancer should avoid eating raw oysters.

Another assumption about oysters is that they are an aphrodisiac. However chemical analysis shows that it consists of water, protein, and carbohydrates, plus small amounts of fat, sugar and minerals. None of these components is in any way known to affect sex drive and performance. It is assumed that the sexual strength comes from eating foods resembling a sex organ, and that it is all something based on the psychological aspect.

So where I am going with all this knowledge? Well, oysters being an aphrodisiac already, a Mr. George May has decided to take the oyster to the next level and create an ultimate aphrodisiac by lacing his oysters with the anti-impotence drug, Viagra, in a bid to sell them to overseas customers. The oysters are being harvested then transferred to tanks full of crushed Viagra.

May has since patented the idea of feeding not only Viagra to the oysters, but magnesium, zinc, and sea grass. He already has about ten million oysters in cultivation and says that there have not been any ill effects of consuming them.

But what about those people out there that cannot use or even have Viagra in any way shape or form? Viagra is not to be given to those who have suffered a stroke or life threatening arrhythmia within six months as well as hypertension, hypotension, angina, coronary artery disease, and many other conditions.

I think we also have to think about the side effects. Anyone who is unable to take medications because of easy reactions to side effects have to think about this and also consult their doctor. Viagra can cause many side effects from a mere headache to urinary tract infection to abnormal vision even Dyspepsia.

Here is another thought... Many drugs you can't mix and match and Viagra isn't any different. If you are on certain antibiotics or HIV medications, or even antifungal medications, forget eating your beloved oysters that are soaked in Viagra.

Those of you that eat oysters by the dozens, yeah I know your out there, remember that if those little goodies are dosed in Viagra, don't consume too many. Over 100mg of Viagra and you're overdosing.

If you're a woman, if you are under the age of 18, if you are on any form of nitrate medication, or suffer from an eye condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, you should not be eating these oysters at all!

To those of you that don't have any of the above conditions, go ahead, enjoy your oysters. But honestly, are people so lazy now that they can't pop a pill and go grab a few oysters, now they have to have everything meshed together?

The Food Safety NSW states that the creator of these magic oysters is illegal and breaches the NSW shellfish program under the Food Act. Whether this invention is breached or not, this is a dangerous food to be placing on the market. Mr. May states that he is looking at the potential to make up to $300 million in the Asian market. Everyone is always looking for a way to make money, even though after Mr. May's prostate cancer surgery he was threatened by impotence, health risks and factors should outweigh money.

If this oyster is out and about in stores at any point in time, warning labels need to be clearly visible, as well as the title VIAGRA OYSTERS in bold letter on the front of the package. This product is going to cause many concerns and or problems and Mr. May should be ready to face any consequences.
