Victoria & Albert's Restaurant In Orlando, Florida: A Review
A Restaurant in the Resort Hotel the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World
I was treated to Victoria & Albert's for my birthday in September. It was the best birthday present every. I give the restaurant five out of five stars. Dining at Victoria & Albert's is a wonderful experience that starts as soon as the guest checks in and doesn't stop until the guest walks out the door.
We were warmly greeted as soon as we checked in. I received numerous birthday wishes throughout the night and even a couple of birthday extras from the staff. Our wait staff was excellent. They took the time to explain all the items on our personalized keepsake menu. For the first course we had tamarind-ancho marinated gulf shrimp with heirloom Tomato Vinaigrette. Second course we had poached South Carolina quail with black mission figs and fuji apples. For our third course we had Alaskan king salmon with pickled onions and demi-tasse cup of smoked salmon. For our fourth course we had kurobuta pork tenderloin and belly with artichokes and Florida corn. For dessert we had vanilla bean crème bruelee. All of the food was excellent.
The course presentation is awesome with a waiter bringing special breads in between each course. Everything is perfectly timed and even though the waiters seem to hover around, we still felt like it was just the two of us. The tables are spaced perfectly and the lighting is very dim that we barely noticed the other guests.
For my birthday, my boyfriend had special ordered a mini-castle cake. The waiter brought it out very discreetly and much to my surprise. I was very delighted but of course after all that excellent food. The waiter boxed it up nicely for me and we had it for breakfast the next day. The waiter presented me with a rose, which all female guests receive. For my birthday, he gave me a freshly baked loaf of dessert bread. Also in the beginning of the meal we received a special "compliments of the chef" appetizer which was also wonderful.
The price is high at $125 per person but I think that is actually a very fair price for all the excellent food and service that is received during the two and half hour experience. I really think Victoria and Albert's needs to become my new birthday tradition. We both loved the experience and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fine dining.
